New Year Resolutions... πthey have a reputation for being made every new year and then not being followed through during the course of the new year. And maybe you have tried to all the cliches, but have never been able to stick your resolutions for more than a month or two. But here are some fun and interesting resolutions that are a bit more doable then the typical resolutions.
Resolution #1 Read 12 Books a Year. This one is for the lover of books. But maybe you struggle with getting in the time to read all the wonderful books you keep hearing about. So at the start of the year, plan out 12 books that you want to read over the course of the year. Then every month try to complete the book you have selected. You can read the classics you've heard so much about, the new dramatic series that was just released, or some of your favorite books from when you were a kid. Maybe you have one very large book that you want to read and spread out over the whole year. Its a light, fun, and doable resolution, plus its enjoyable! π
Resolution #2 No Phone Days. No, I'm not saying that you should give up your phone for the whole year, although that would be interesting. But rather, if you feel like you spend too much time on your phone, then you might consider this resolution. In the beginning, you can start with one day a month where you go phone-free. If you want more, then go three days a month, then once a week. If you can't go your whole day without the phone, try taking half days without your phone and then increase. This means that messages can be responded to, but you are taking the break you need. π΅
Resolution #3 30 day challenges. This one includes exercise. Most people want to exercise and work out more, but simply don't make it to the gym. And that's okay. Because a fun and very quick way to get in some fitness is to do a 30 day challenge. There are hundreds to chose from and they come in every form of exercise. Core, Legs, Thighs, Arms, Whole Body, Yoga, Stretching, you name it. Simply look up the 30 day challenges in the area that interests you, most take only 5-15 minutes per day, definitely doable. π
Resolution #4 A new dish every week! This is a fun, and delicious resolution. Try making a new dish of any kind every week. At the end of the year, you'll have 52 delicious new recipes you'll have tried and probably love and want to include into your daily meals. You can make big meals or simple things like smoothies. Have fun with this one, try different things like vegan, or dairy-free options, that way you'll always have something to make whenever you have friends with all sorts of dietary needs come over. Another great way to do this, plus spend time with your friends, is ask them to show you their favorite recipes. Win-win! π₯
Resolution #5 This one isn't one resolution as much as 12 mini resolutions. This is actually what I did last year and am doing again this year because I loved doing resolutions this way! So every month, you create a mini or doable goal for that month. Nothing too major, and then I try to complete my goal for that month. At the beginning of the next month, I create a new challenge and goal for that month. Some of my goals I have kept continuing because I enjoyed them so much, and some have been a great challenge for a month's time. This one is great because you get to try a bunch of little challenges without feeling like you have to change a bunch of stuff all of once. You might find that you'd like to try all of the above challenges, well now you can! Some examples of what I did last year were - Plank for 2 minutes every day, no-sugar month, stretch every day for 10 minutes. You can do something as big or as small as you want.
Hope you can take inspiration for these easy and fun New Year resolution ideas. I"ll be posting about my own resolutions every month and how I did!
Till next time, Lily π
